A perfect result for the Golf GTI TCR drivers in TC America: Michael Hurczyn (USA) is the newly-crowned champion, while team-mate Nate Vincent (USA) ended the season in second place in the championship.
Seventh place in race one of the season finale at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway was enough to give Hurczyn an unassailable lead. The only man who could have denied him the title, Vincent, crossed the finish line in second place. The Volkswagen duo enjoyed even more success in the final race of the weekend. Following a safety car phase, Vincent defended his second place and put race leader Mason Filippi (USA, Hyundai) under pressure. However, he was unable to find a way past the eventual winner. Hurczyn passed three Audis at the re-start and was able to fight his way into fourth place.
For Volkswagen customer team FCP Euro, the one-two in the championship is the result of a successful season, in which Hurczyn won three races and Vincent two. Hurczyn made 14 appearances on the podium, while Vincent had 13 top-three finishes. In the championship table, Hurczyn ended the season with 285 points to his name, ahead of runner-up Vincent (257). Filippi was third with 187 points.
