Bryntesson holds his nerve

Swede reaches podium once again

Local hero Thomas Bryntesson reached the podium again in the Volkswagen Polo at the second race of the FIA European Rallycross Championship (ERX) in Hell (N). He drove the fastest time in two of the four qualifying laps, recording one second-place finish and one seventh place. This saw the 23-year old qualify in second place for the semi-final for the twelve best drivers. He prevailed against his competitors at that stage to win his race. It had been sunny and warm for the whole weekend but the weather turned nasty for the final race. Despite sometimes heavy rain, Bryntesson held his nerve on the tricky asphalt-gravel track and claimed third place after a tough battle.

Bryntesson scored 25 points during the weekend and is now in second place in the overall standings, with 51 points. Robin Larsson (S, Audi) is in first place, with 60 points. The third ERX event will take place on 6th and 7th July in Höljes (S).
